No. 3 Ohio State leads No. 9 Indiana 28-7 at halftime in a game where Indiana has had chances but couldn’t take advantage of them. That said, the start of the game didn’t look promising for the Hoosiers. After Indiana punted following its first possession, Ohio State needed only two plays to go 75 yards and take an early 7-0 lead. Indiana’s offense stalled again, but this time its defense came through by forcing Justin Fields into his first interception of the season. Unfortunately for Indiana, it didn’t take advantage of it. Nor did it take advantage of Fields’ second interception a couple of possessions later.
Indiana managed to tie the game 7-7 early in the second quarter, but Ohio State’s offense finally settled into the game after that and reeled off three touchdowns to finish the half and take a 28-7 lead. If Indiana had been able to convert those turnovers into points as it has so often this season, we’d have a much different game on our hands. As it stands, it looks like the Hoosiers have a very tall mountain to climb in the second half.
